Symantec, which offers computer security solutions, in collaboration with Computer Solutions Ltd. (CSL) and CSB Group recently held a half day seminar at the Casino di Venezia in Vittoriosa for local iGaming operators.
During the seminar, CSL and CSB shared insights, outlined industry best practices and discussed relevant security solutions which are suitable for the iGaming sector.
The iGaming industry depends on the reliable management of information stored as data. CSL and CSB provided local operators with case studies that highlighted the importance of systematic computer security policies and suitable software tools.
Business strategy and processes were discussed first. CSB Group offers a real “one-stop-shop” service to iGaming operators to assist them with setting up or re-locating in Malta. CSB have dedicated consultants that specialise in the iGaming sector. The salient points of the introduction were the need to adopt a formal approach to managing security, assessing risk and performing business impact analysis.
As systems integrators with long experience in the field of ICT, CSL focused mostly on the services delivery aspect for iGaming customers.
CSL’s recently revamped website was used to discuss and demonstrate new services that CSL now offers to the market.
These services include managed services, business continuity and disaster recovery consulting and complete datacentre co-location facilities.
The core technical perspective was provided by Symantec which has a large number of reference customers in this industry. Statistics related to threat propagation and Symantec’s response to such security threats was highlighted. Products related to strong authentication, compliance, encryption and other relevant areas were showcased.
An interesting session was delivered by 888 Holding’s Director of IT operations Ariel Pisetzky who discussed how his company (one of the largest iGaming operators worldwide) uses Symantec technology to deliver secure iGaming to customers.
He discussed the use of Data Leakage Protection software which monitors all inputs and outputs in a manner tailored to the business and its vulnerabilities.
