Air Malta’s current chairman Sonny Portelli’s financial package amounts to €50,000, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech told Parliament in reply to a question by Marie Louise Coleiro Preca (PL).

This compared with €16,306 for non-executive chairman Lawrence Zammit, €139,608 for executive chairman Louis Grech (including income from subsidies), and €15,000 for executive chairman Joseph N. Tabone. Mr Fenech added that, in his tenure as chairman, Albert Mizzi had chosen not to be paid his honoraria. This could be confirmed from the company’s board minutes.
