Maltese notary arrested in Spain
Notary Pierre Falzon had been arrested in Marbella, Spain, on the strength of a European Arrest Warrant.
The Secretariat for Small Businesses said the warrant was requested by the Malta police and Dr Falzon was arrested on Saturday.
His wife insisted with timesofmalta.com that her husband is abroad because he is ill and his arrest was a consequence of him having been unable to attend a court sitting.

What good news!! Clearly a man like this is an embarrassment to the notarial and legal profession. Hopefully, measures will be taken by the authorities to strip this person of his warrant to practice as a notary before he causes for damage and proceed with the registration of all contracts at the public registry

What a silly system; to send out an international warrant over something so trivial!

I have been in contact with the public registry and they have assured me that this Notary has no unregistered contracts apart from the few recent ones which he has been unable to register due to personal and health reasons for which he had to go overseas. Please get your facts straight before posting something like this. You could ruin a life.

I know this Notary personally, and i know for a fact that he only has some pending unregistered contracts due to his time abroad & not from the year 2000! As you all know, any maltese person is arrested after missing multiple court sittings.
