Last Friday, leading Maltese death metalheads Beheaded played a warm-up gig at Remedy ahead of the band’s upcoming concert in Thailand on Saturday.
The band, which has released three albums to date and is signed to US label Unique Leader, will be headlining the Hymns to Disembodiment metal festival that is held annually in Bangkok, making Beheaded the first-ever Maltese metal band to perform in Asia.
Beheaded first formed in 1991, making this year their 20th anniversary. The occasion will be marked with more live performances abroad, including the Neurotic Deathfest in Holland, the Open Air Deathfest in Germany, and the Mountains of Death festival in Switzerland.
The band’s fourth album, Never to Dawn, will be released through Unique Leader later this year.
The band will also be performing a number of shows to support the new album and a special concert in Malta to celebrate its two-decade milestone as pioneers of the local extreme metal scene.
Beheaded is composed of Frank Calleja on vocals, David ‘Ċejċa’ Cachia on bass, Chris Brincat on drums, and Omar Grech and Robert Agius on guitars.
