FARRUGIA. On February 24, CONCETTA, aged 88, passed away peacefully at St Vincent de Paul Residence, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmen and her husband Vince Perry and Rita, widow of John Falzon, her grandchildren Rupert and his wife Mila Perry, Kevin and his wife Michelle Perry, and Charmaine and Clayton Falzon, her great-grandchildren Kelvin and Melvin Perry, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Birżebbuġa parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FARRUGIA. On February 22, at his residence, SAVIOUR of Fleur-de-Lys, ex-chairman of Jon David Limited, aged 72, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine, his children Josef and his wife Ruth, Paul and his wife Therese, John and his wife Cynthia, his grandchildren, Thea, Francesca, Bernhard, Jean Paul, Jacob and Luke, his sister Joan and her husband Nicholas Cauchi, his brother Charles and his wife Rose, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On February 23, at her residence, ODETTE of Marsa, residing in Qawra, aged 46, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband William, her mother Doris, her sisters Carmen and her husband Eugenio Brincat, Jane, Mary, Josette and her husband Brian Cutajar, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for the Holy Trinity parish church, Marsa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Lectures on the family

The Theology Students Association will be holding a series of lectures on the importance of the family in contemporary society themed Strengthening The Family. The aim of the lectures is to help students and the public realise the importance of adhering to lifestyles and values that will help the Maltese family grow in unity and love. Sports marathon

A sports marathon called Play for Charity will be held on March 26 at the Gozo Sports Complex in Victoria in aid of Arka Foundation. It will include four disciplines: squash, football (5-a-side), tennis and cycling.

Those interested in taking part can fill in an application form at the reception desk of the Sports Complex until March 18.
