A 44-year-old woman suffered shock when she became the victim of a hold-up inside a shop in Gerry Zammit Street, Gżira just before 8 p.m. yesterday.

Sources said about €1,000 were stolen.

The police said the thief entered the shop and threatened the woman with a knife as he demanded money. At the time the woman, from Gżira, was alone behind the counter.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke appointed a team of experts to help in an inquiry.
