Three Maltese have been repatriated from Libya on a Hercules transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force.

The plane flew in from Tripoli this afternoon with some 40 Britons on board.

The repatriation of the Maltese was handled by the Maltese Foreign Ministry

Meanwhile, a Royal Navy frigate, HMS Cumberland, has berthed in Benghazi to evacuate Britons and workers of other nationalities.
