Libyan anti-Gaddafi protesters in the third consecutive day of protests outside the Libyan Embassy are calling on the Maltese to show solidarity by joining them in their protests.

One of the protesters, who this morning were about 60, had a laptop on which he was showing the others recent images and messages from Libya.

The protesters referred to Gaddafi's speech yesterday and said the man was "mad and scary". They were confidence he will be forced to step down now that the fear barrier has been crossed.

Earlier today, another two security guards of the Libyan embassy quit their posts this morning and walked out of the embassy.

Their departure was greeted by applause and cheers the protesters. Another three left the embassy on Monday.

The latest defectors came out carrying bags and according to the protesters, they are going straight to Libya to be with their families.
