Obituary

BORG. On February 17, at his residence, JOE of Gżira, aged 74, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Brian and his wife Connie, Anna and James and Vanessa and her husband Keith, her grandchildren Ryan, Shana, Dianndra, Ross, Naomi and great-granddaughter Erin, his brothers and sisters, his mother-in-law Fefi, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday at 1.30 p.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMENZULI. On February 21, at Villa M. SS.ma Annunziata, Sr VINCENZINA (Giuseppina) of the Sisters of Charity, aged 94, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity, her sister-in-law Josephine, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 9.15 a.m. at the chapel of the convent of the Sisters of Charity, 55, Birbal Street, Balzan, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

DEMICOLI. On February 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA CONSIGLIA of Valletta, aged 61, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Anthony, her son Randolph and his girlfriend Melissa, her daughter Sylvana Marie and her fiancé Colin, her grandson Jake Ferdinand, her brothers and sister, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, especially her brothers and sisters of the first community of the Neo Catechumenal Way of Guarda-mangia. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.15 p.m. for St Paul Shipwrecked parish church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA. On February 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, EMMANUEL of Valletta, widower of Margaret, aged 80, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Tanya and Joe Zammit, Melovan and Mhairi, Kenneth and Evelyn, his grandchildren Sephora, Gabriel, Gareth and Gavin, his brothers and sisters Salvino, Margaret and Anna, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 7.30 a.m. for St Paul Shipwrecked parish church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PALMER-MOREWOOD. On February 20, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, ANTHONY, aged 78, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by his children Chantal and her husband Gordon Bartoli, Nicholas and his wife Mandy, his much loved grandchildren Alexander, Saskia and Sophia and his wife Daphne, née Lungaro-Mifsud, their respective families, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass praesente cadavere will take place on Friday, February 25 at 2 p.m. at Balzan parish church, followed by repatriation to the United Kingdom. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SPITERI. On February 18, at Gozo General Hospital, Fr EMMANUEL, aged 77, of Sannat, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters and brother, Margaret, Carmel and Stella, their families, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He also leaves to mourn his loss the archpriest, clergy and Sannat parishioners. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.15 p.m. for St Margaret parish church, Sannat, where Mass praesente cadavere, presided by Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment at Sannat Cemetery. Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.’ John II:25-26

Funeral

The funeral of JACK SERRA of Sta Venera, who passed away on February 19, aged 104, leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The Serra family would like to greatly thank Casa Antonia Residential Nursing Home and all the dedicated staff for the care and attention afforded to Jack during his years in their care.

In Memoriam

AGIUS. In loving memory of our dear nephew DAMIAN, today the first anniversary of his demise. Fondly remembered by uncle Victor, auntie Rita, cousins Gianluca and Pearl. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BORG. In loving memory of ANTHONY on the 11th anniversary of his passing away. Always remembered and missed by his wife Gracienne. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BORG – MARY. Remembering with love a dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, especially today the 10th anniversary of her demise. Her children Suzanne, Joseph, Henry, Wilfred, their spouses and families. May she rest in peace.

BRINCAT – LINA. On the ninth anniversary of her passing away. Fondly remembered by her family. The 7.30 and 9 a.m. Masses said tomorrow at St Patrick’s church, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of her soul.

COLEMAN – MADELEINE. In ever loving memory of my mother, being the 10th anniversary of her death. Her beloved son, Jonathan Busuttil.
