Air Malta is still awaiting clearance by the Libyan aviation authorities to operate up to five extra flights from Tripoli, but the scheduled daily flight is operating normally, a spokesman said.

The flight for Tripoli left Malta at 10.40 this morning, with a number of Maltese already gathered at Tripoli airport awaiting its arrival.

The spokesman said Air Malta is operating an Aurbus A320 in an all-economy configuration so that it can take a maximum of 180 passengers.
