The seventh round from the Shell Slot Car Championship took place recently at the Smokey Wheels RaceWay in Għaxaq. A record 13 racers turned up as the championship reached its half-way mark for the 2010-11 season.

Qualifying times were very close and so were race results. Nigel Caruana was the winner with Lucas Pace second and Ryan Abela third.

Caruana moved to third place in the overall positions on 244 points. Alex Frendo still leads the championship with 250 points, five ahead of Abela.

The next round of races will be held on Saturday.
