The sum of €7,000 was raised during a 12-hour marathon held last month at the Valletta Waterfront.

Martial Arts vs Rock Bands sees local rock bands and martial arts schools vie for public attention in a bid to outdo each other in sums they raise to help children needing cancer treatment abroad and their carers.

“This help ensures that logistics and financial hurdles are lifted off these families, who are already burdened with the pain and challenges of cancer and enable them instead to focus on giving their full support to their vulnerable children,” said Rennie Zerafa, staff nurse at Puttinu Cares.

There were also other donations raised through a display by the Old Motors Club, the Classic Sports Cars Club Malta and the Ħal Far Model Association.

A lively Zumba performance by Graziella made sure children also enjoyed the day.

Now in its third edition, this 12-hour marathon has raised over €21,000.
