Thieves caught trying to escape

Two thieves were caught trying to escape from the roof of a residence in Balzan this afternoon, the police said.

The thieves entered a residence in San Valentinu Street, Balzan, stealing several items. This residence was empty at the time. They then entered a second residence which had people inside.

Nothing was stolen from the second residence. The police covered this residence and caught the unarmed thieves as they were trying to escape.

An inquiry is being held.
