Top model Agyness Deyn is swapping her designer shoes for trainers to run the London marathon in aid of charity.

She is part of a team put together by fashion photographer Rankin and his wife Tuuli Shipster who will run the course for Oxfam.

The Oxglam Squad as they are known also includes model David Gandy, designer Henry Holland and Hotel Babylon actress Emma Pierson.

Ms Deyn said: “It’s going to be fun running the marathon with Henry and the rest of the Oxglam Squad, and it’s also great knowing that Oxfam will put the money we raise to such good use.”

Mr Gandy is also planning to run the New York marathon this year in a double bid to raise funds.

He said: “I’ve only ever run half-marathons and never particularly fancied turning around and going back on myself. I’m not exactly built for long distance running, so this is going to be a real challenge, but a fun one I’m hoping.

“I’m really pleased that my marathon run will help to raise funds for fantastic projects run by Oxfam, especially projects in Africa as I’ve seen first hand the help so many of the people need. As it is, I’m hoping all the team can make it out to Tanzania to see some of the Oxfam projects for ourselves.” The fashionistas will go out to Tanzania to see one of the projects which will benefit from their fundraising efforts.

Rankin said: “I have travelled twice with Oxfam and seen for myself how their work literally transforms people’s lives.”
