A dig at the Gozo tunnel (2)
Having a tunnel to Gozo is a good idea.
There can always be a toll fee to travel back and forth; that way the government will recoup some of the cost and it will be less money that taxpayers will have to pay.

yes perfectly good idea Mary, cost would be about €500 million payable over 20 years plus interest rate 5% plus unavoidable maintenance costs. With 500,000 using the tunnel every year, this would work out at about € 127.00 per crossing. I am trying hard to imagine the Gozitans paying this amount to come to Malta, when with €50.00 you fly to a dozen places in Europe. Any other good ideas?

There should be no mention of any tunnels or any bridges connecting the islands until we finish the proposed project at Cirkewwa. Let us finish the Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal so this generation can have a decent waiting room, maybe some decent public conveniences and maybe some decent shelter to accommodate ferry passengers. It seems to work very well and very efficiently at the Mgarr Terminal. Maybe we can find toilets with real tissue available, or maybe even dream of having a clean and decent public convenience. Maybe even a decent and safe Promenade connecting Cirkewwa to Marfa? That is not asking for much.
