Welcome embellishment works

With reference to the article titled Bisazza Street Works ‘Causing Misery’ (February 8), we would like to confirm that the view of one or two shop owners complaining on the quality and inconvenience of the works being carried out does not reflect the overall view of the majority of the other shop owners in Bisazza Street, Sliema.

Despite the momentary loss of trade, dust, chicken wire and other such miseries, the majority of the said shop owners are quite satisfied with works being carried out and accept the reality of the situation as it stands.

Unfortunately, some toes will be stepped on and, yes, we do accept everyone has the sacrosanct right to express his opinions but we stand convinced that once the embellishment works are completed they will prove to be a definite improvement to our trade and to the standards of living, in particular to all the residents in the street.

Beleive me I will if Arriva provides me a decent service from Rabat to Sliema! It's already a pain driving towards Sliema every morning! It's a much bigger pain looking for parking when half the parking lots are taken from cranes and no parking signs. Thank God I do not go to work with a large and new car otherwise I would not find a space where to fit my car and I will cry once in a week when I find a new scratch or dent in my car due to very good drivers! I have an 800cc engine car... I don't create much CO2... I don't want to increase the poison in the second most poisoned city after Marsa! However I would like to see in a few days time the letters sent to The Times from Qui Si Sana residents when the new traffic scheme will come in force. The diversion will create much more poison than what there is now due to increased traffic jams! PS: Sorry for the double post.

You should know better Kevin, that free parking has been taken away from all of you to keep the Tigne' Point parking facility busy !! If you want to protest, you have to do it Egyptian style !!
