The GWU’s Professionals, Finance and Services Section has registered an industrial dispute with Bank of Valletta in relation to the alleged wrong application by the bank of the permanent early retirement schemes of employees.

"The union believes that the bank is wrongly applying provisions of the collective agreement relating to such schemes and that such application is to the detriment of employees," the GWU said.

It said it has requested a conciliatory meeting with the Director of Industrial Relations while warning of action if no agreement was reached.
