Dom Mintoff's condition improves

Dom Mintoff's medical condition has continued to improve, Mater Dei Hospital said in an official statement this afternoon.

The former prime minister, 94, was re-admitted to hospital yesterday.

The hospital said he was admitted to Medical Ward 1 of Mater Dei Hospital at 2pm due to a deterioration in his level of consciousness.

"Since admission, he has been reviewed by his medical team and he has undergone thorough investigations, including a CT scan of the brain, and has received treatment accordingly. His condition has now improved and his medical team has described his condition as stable considering his age and numerous medical problems," the hospital said.
