Schranz painting on property magazine
Some of the latest and most prominent properties for sale or to rent are included in Perry’s real estate magazine, which will be out with The Sunday Times tomorrow.
The front cover features a painting by Giovanni Schranz, which will be on public exhibition at the offices of Perry Ltd in Tower Road, Sliema.
Perry’s property magazine is designed by Mediamaker Ltd and printed by Progress Press, both members of the Allied Group of Companies.

Interesting Paul
That may well be another good reason
The Corradino Lines were built around this time to fortify the Corradino, the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities.

This must be Ras Hanzir - Marsa
On the right one can see Spencer's Monument - designed by Architect George Pullicino.
The monument was originally erected on Corradino Hill in 1831 - the Hill of Wise Counsel !
Sixty Two years later the British decided they needed to install large cannons to defend the harbour
1893 – Spencer’s monument was moved to its present position in Blata il Bajda on top of what we now call Spencer Hill.
Robert Cavendish Spencer is the Great-Great Uncle of Diana Spencer
I have proposed that Spencer's Burial Place should be restored as it forms part of our heritage and history

Spencer's monument was moved by the British away from Corradino Hill because the Royal Navy thought it made a handy reference point in triangulated rangefinding by potential enemy gunners in case the Grand Harbour and its fortifications were under naval bombardment by an adversary .
By 1893 large calibre breech loading naval guns using smokeless powder along with sophisticated optical rangefinding were coming into use by all the major world power players.
