The 16 finalists for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest were announced this evening at the end of the qualifying night of the contest held by PBS at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

The finalists from the 24 participating songs were selected by televoting and a panel of six judges led by Italian songwriter and singer Riccardo Cocciante. Televoting accounted for a third of the vote.

The guest participants were last year's winner Thea Garrett and Polish Eurovision participant Marcin Mzorwski.

The final will be held this evening (Saturday).

Catch 22 - Amber Bondin.

One life - Glenn Vella.

No surrender - Fabrizio Faniello.

Hypnotised - Eleanor Cassar.

Finally - Richard Edwards.
