CHETCUTI. On February 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARLENE of Cospicua, aged 87, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Carmen and her husband Charles Chetcuti and Anna and her husband Anthony Cassar, her grandchildren Mariella, Christina, Marika and Mark, her brothers and sisters, their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9.45 a.m. for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception parish church, Cospicua, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10.15 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

REFALO. On February 7, at Gozo General Hospital, CARMELA, widow of ex-MP Carmelo Refalo of Xagħra, Gozo, aged 97, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Mary and her husband Kenneth, Antida and her husband Carmel, Joe and his wife Maria, Victoria (Vivie) who took loving care of her, Anton and his wife Tonia, Louis, ex-MP and his wife Maria, Andy and his wife Ġuża, and Fr Alex. She also leaves to mourn her loss her grandchildren, amongst whom Fr Anton Grech, a missionary in Guatemala, and great-grandchildren, her sisters and brother and their families, other relatives and friends. A cortège leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Xagħra Basilica where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment at Xagħra cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Fr Anton Grech’s parish in Guatemala would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On February 8, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, ELIZABETH (k/a Bessie) of Sta ­Venera, aged 92, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Victor and his wife Monica, Joe and his wife Mary, Charles and his wife Rose, her daughters Ludguarde Davies and Anna, her grandchildren Claude, Julie and her husband Anthony, Adrian, Angele and her husband Mark, Celine and her husband Peter, Gabriel and his fiancée Wendy, Wesley and his wife Rachel, Gareth and his wife Fiona, her great-grandchildren Jessica, Daniel, Mireille, Maia and Matteo, Jay-Kay and Zach and Sabine, many other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence today at 2 p.m. for the new Sta Venera parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
