The GWU has warned Enemalta that it will feel free to order industrial action if longstanding problems at the corporation's credit control section were not resolved by tomorrow evening.
The union said that the workers at this section had been given nothing to do for a year, and other workers were being brought in overtime to do their work.
The matter had been repeatedly discussed with the management and the Minister of Finance, but agreements were not honoured.
It seemed the union said, that the management wanted to get rid of these workers.
The union also said in a statement that it could not understand how, according to a minister, the corporation risked not having enough money to pay its workers, but it them found the money to pay performance bonuses of between 12% and 15% to the members of the management. These included the people who were mistreating its members, the GWU said.
