GWU general secretary Tony Zarb this morning hoped that the Commission Against Corruption would not take long in its investigation of the Fairmount case, which the union had asked it to investigate in October.

Addressing a news conference, Mr Zarb said that after the union presented its case to the commission, it subsequently, on November 11, gave the commission a statement under oath detailing the allegations and including copies of two reports on the matter, one by Price Waterhouse, the other by the union.

Mr Zarb said that todate, the union had not heard anything from the commission and it was holidng the conference to show that the case was not closed for the union. It also wanted to keep people informed of the developments.
