The police this morning advised motorists to avoid Msida because of rainwater flooding, the second instance of morning traffic misery in three days.

Motorists also encountered problems near Lija cemetery, the Birkirkara Bypass and the Rabat Road from Attard towards Valletta.

At Lija, a front wheel of a Mercedes couple' got stuck in a manhole which was dislodged by the torrent of water.

The problems had eased by 9 a.m.

Flooding on Tuesday morning saw hundreds of workers arrive late for work after having been trapped in traffic jams for more than an hour.
