Tunnel under River Tyne

Work continues on the construction of the 260M Tyne Tunnel 2, due to be opened this month, which will run alongside the existing tunnel opened in 1967 by the Queen Elizabeth II. The tunnel is 1.5 kilometres long and 120 kilometres of cable has been laid during its construction and passes under the Famous River Tyne.
