Obituary

BAILEY. On January 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTONIA, aged 80 of Rabat, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Peter, her children Dr Mark and his wife Louise, Charlotte and Sarah Manley, Godfrey and Josephine Bailey, her brothers Bishop Michael Ebejer OP, of Brazil, Salvinu and his wife Jessie, her grandchildren, among them Ayla. The funeral leaves Mater Dei today at 3 p.m. for St Dominic church, Rabat where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Dingli cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CALLEJA. On January 31, at the Brother’s House, De La Salle College, Bro. JAMES, aged 92, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss the De La Salle Brothers’ Communities at De La Salle College and at Stella Maris College, his relatives and his many friends of the Lasallian family. The funeral will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at De La Salle College, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. We would like to invite all his priest friends to concelebrate. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CUTAJAR. On January 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE (ex-Asst. Head, Birżebbuġa Primary School), died peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She is mourned by her cousins, the Society of St Joseph Band Club of Għaxaq, Rita, Gaetano and their son Stefano Sicari, relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated today at 3 p.m. at Santa Marija parish church, Għaxaq, followed by interment at Tarxien cemetery. No flowers but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

FORMOSA. On January 31, ANNA MARIA, aged 52, from Valletta and residing in Qormi, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Albert, her children Aaron and Alan and their respective fiancées, her father Raphael and her mother Helen, her brother Joseph and his wife Rose, her sisters, Rita and her husband Saviour, Marlene and her husband Paul, Ivana and her husband Mario, her in-laws, nephews and nieces, uncles and aunts, cousins and many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Dominic parish church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GATT. On January 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Birkirkara, residing in Naxxar, aged 65, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine, his children Richard and his wife Melissa, Alison and her fiancé Richard Stones, his niece Kaithlyn, his mother Angela, widow of Vince, his sister Maria and her husband Alfred Zarb, his mother and father-in-law, Vincenza and Anthony Mifsud, other in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for Naxxar parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her brothers and sisters, Mark and his wife Josephine, Mariella and her husband Carmel Piscopo, Sandro and his wife Kathryn, Paul and his wife Anna, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for the Carmelite parish church, Balluta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

A Mass for the repose of the soul of GERALD PIZZUTO will be celebrated today at 6 p.m. at the Ursuline chapel, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.
