No element of crude in Enemalta purchases
There is no element of crude in Enemalta purchases of fuel and gas oil, the Finance Minister told Parliament in reply to a question by opposition MP Leo Brincat.
Enemalta buys fuel and gas oil direct. Crude prices are used only for hedging because they are the most liquid on the market, making it easier for the corporation to keep track of prices.

Can you please elaborate further on this. What is meant by "Enemalta buys fuel direct". Direct from where?
Considering this has impacted all our lives so greatly, further details would be appreciated.
