Three men have been arrested by the police in Malta after packets of cocaine addressed to them were intercepted in the US and the UK, the police announced this evening.

Officers arrested a 64-year-old man and his 35-year-old son, both of St Julians, and a 31-year-old man from Sliema.

The packets were intercepted last week and contained a total of 400 grams of cocaine.

Magistrate Claire Micallef Stafrace is heading an inquiry.
