The Sliema Philharmonic Society is presenting ‘Sliema Light Orchestra in concert’ conducted by Sigmund Mifsud at the Sir Temi Zammit Auditorium, University of Malta, on on February 19 at 8 p.m. and on February 20 at 7.30 p.m.
The concert will feature music from films as well as popular musicals with styles varying from rock, swing and pop.
The music will include tracks by Deep Purple, The Beatles, Christina Aguilera and Sting.
The Sliema Light Orchestra will be accompanied by singers Mark Spiteri, Dorothy Bezzina, Mikaela, Justin, Ryan and Vittorio Gauci together with the Children’s Choir directed by soprano Gillian Zammit.
The winner of Maestro Mifsud’s inexperienced singers audition will also perform during the concert.
Mro Mifsud has directed concerts by the Big Band Brothers, the ‘National Orchestra goes pop’ as well as ‘Rockestra’.
