Aaron Reading, the English shooter who won gold at the Commonwealth Games last year, is currently in Malta for a mid-winter training camp at the Malta Shooting Sport Federation ranges in Bidnija.

The MSSF said Reading, a regular Great Britain representative in Trap competitions these past nine years, is here along with his coach to conduct his training in milder weather conditions at this part of the continent.

In Delhi, Reading, who hails from Lincolnshire, managed a score of 123 and 24 in the barrage to win the title on 147/150, a record total for the Commonwealths.

With the cold weather biting hard this winter, most ranges in northern Europe are still unavailable for practising and competitions.

The federation added that a national shooting complex would attract more top-level shooters, like Reading, to our country for training.

Also, the MSSF will be in a better position to host international competitions on home soil at this particular time of the year.
