A group of teachers and students from Maria Regina College – St Paul’s Bay Primary recently attended a Comenius project meeting in Trieste, Italy.
The project, currently in its second and final year, is entitled ‘If you want to see the beauty of the world, first you have to find it in yourself’.
It encourages primary schoolchildren from Malta, Poland, Italy, Romania and Lithuania to admire the beauty of the world, appreciate other people and to employ art and creative activities to help them not only improve themselves, but also focus public opinion on social problems that surround us.
During their five-day visit to Trieste, teachers and students learned about the Italian education system and attended a presentation about local traditions.
They took part in music and art workshops by presenting choir activities.
They also participated in guided tours around the city of Trieste, the castle and park of Miramare, the giant cave, the Karst house, Venice and the island of Murano.
During March, Maria Regina College – St Paul’s Bay Primary will be hosting its partner schools.
This will be an opportunity for students to meet their foreign counterparts, share their talents and capabilities and show them some of Malta’s educational, cultural and historical aspects.
