A Sudanese was this morning granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 after he pleaded not guilty to causing damage worth thousands of euros to the detriment of a corporation and private companies.

36-year-old Suleiman Salem Hassan, who resides in Msida, was charged at the Gozo Courts with causing €7,000 worth of damage to the detriment of a corporation, and €2,000 and €300 to the detriment of two private companies.

The damage was caused through carelessness, a lack of skill or ignoring regulations.

He was also charged with damaging a Mazda and a Mitsubishi and with driving a car without a licence and insurance cover.

The case continues on February 17.
