After setting five age-group marks in the last three months, Neil Muscat was again in record-breaking form over the weekend when taking part in the Plymouth Leander SC swim meet at Millfield, England.
The young swimmer, now in the Group B 12-13 age-bracket, improved his own 100 metres and 200 metres backstroke records set last month when finishing in 1 min 11.55 (previous 1:12.14) and 2 min 31.23 (previous 2:33.25) respectively.
These new feats are further confirmation of the versatile talents of this boy who now holds a total eight age-group records, three in the A (set late in 2009) and five in the B category, seven of which are spread over the four strokes. The other limit is in the 200 metres individual medley.
The promising Neptunes WPSC swimmer emerged in the last two years under the guidance of the club’s head coach Gail Rizzo.
