Heathrow Express tickets now available on iPhone

Heathrow Express, the fastest way to travel between central London and Heathrow Airport, has launched an iPhone app which is the first UK iPhone app to allow passengers to purchase and receive tickets direct to their phone.

Richard Robinson, Heathrow Express managing director stated: “Developing an app which allows iPhone users to book and receive Heathrow Express tickets directly continues our strategic approach to offer fully functional mobile ticketing. We have used the smooth interface and exceptional visual quality of the iPhone to create an easy to use app which is as seamless as our service.”

The free app features live service updates as well as the facility to purchase tickets. This secure app has been accredited by Barclays and is PCI DSS compliant – the international standard for data security. It accepts all major credit and debit cards, except Maestro.

Heathrow Express was launched in June 1998 and is operated by BAA. It carries an average of 16,000 passengers each day with over 60 million people having travelled on Heathrow

Heathrow Express departs every 15 minutes from London’s Paddington station to London’s Heathrow Airport. Customers can get to Heathrow Central (Terminals 1 & 3) in only 15 minutes and Terminal 5 in a further four minutes. Terminal 4 can be reached in a further four minutes by taking the free transfer service from Heathrow Central.

In December 2009 Heathrow Express made London Paddington station the first railway station to offer Flight Information Display Screens and Airline Self Service Check-In.

When Heathrow Express launched it became the first, and still is the only, train company to offer on board television with Express TV.
