Chart-topping singer and heart throb James Blunt, one of the biggest music phenomenons to hit the music scene these past years, will be performing live in Malta on April 7 at The Valletta Waterfront, it was officially announced today.

The singer, who is best known for a string of beautiful ballads and for his striking voice, is being brought over to Malta by NnG Promotions.

The singer and songwriter will be stopping in Malta as part of his Europe tour, which is attracting thousands of eager fans in packed venues cheering to his new album, Some Kind of Trouble.

Blunt, whose first album, Back to Bedlam, instantly catapulted him into worldwide superstardom is well known for massive hits like “You’re Beautiful,” “High” and “Goodbye My Lover.”

His new album, Some Kind of Trouble, brings with it a sense of freshness and spontaneity with a sense of energy and excitement. The album is produced by Steve Robson, with whom he wrote most of the album and also includes collaborations with The Bird & the Bee’s Greg Kurstin, Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin and Wayne Hector. The album also contains the touch of All the Lost Souls collaborator Eg White, with whom Blunt collaborated to write the brash Turn Me On, a song which will probably dispel the popular image of Blunt as “Mr. Sensitive”.

“Blunts’s music has mass appeal and brings together exceptional music, an incredibly beautiful and powerful voice and touching lyrics. All James Blunts’ singles become instant chart toppers and enjoy enduring popularity, making him one of the most well-loved musicians of the past decade. His innate musical talent has earnt him numerous awards and accolades including two Brit Awards, two World Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV European Music Award and five Grammy nominations,” NnG director Nigel Camilleri said.

Over the recent years, NnG Promotions have established themselves as the leading promoters of large scale concerts involving top international artists including Joseph Calleja, Roger Waters, Brian Adams, Sting, Elton John, Eros Ramazzotti, Duran Duran, Michael Bolton, Tom Jones, Abba - The Show, Dionne Warwick, Riccardo Cocciante and Laura Pausini.
