Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has warned his players to keep their feet on the ground despite their impressive position in the Serie A standings.
The veteran coach watched his team win 2-0 at Bari this afternoon thanks to goals from Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edison Cavani.
The victory, coupled with Lazio's 3-1 defeat at Bologna, allowed Napoli to claim sole possession of second place in Serie A.
"We have to continue like this and not think about anything else," Mazzarri said.
"For the time being we are second in the standings but there are many games left to play and we cannot lose our focus."
The result was Napoli's second win in 2011 and their sixth on the road this season.
"My team did well to stop Bari from playing their game," Mazzarri said. "We took three important points today against a team that, despite being last in the standings, had made life difficult for other teams in recent weeks.
"This win will help us prepare in the best possible way for a challenging week."
Napoli host Inter Milan in Wednesday's Coppa Italia quarter-finals before taking on Sampdoria in the league four days later at the San Paolo Stadium.
