A 26-year-old Sudanese was this morning given a one year jail term suspended for two after he pleaded not guilty to corrupting a 17-year-old minor.

Police inspector Therese Sciberras told Magistrate Edwina Grima that Kenneth Godwin had consensual sex with the girl between January 10 and 22.

The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the police since their daughter is a minor.
