I would like to clarify the statement made by your columnist Anne Zammit (January 16) that “Last October, Malta’s Steering and Action Committee for Europe, MEUSAC, issued a progress report on an ongoing EU strategy for these chemicals”.

MEUSAC did not issue the report, but issued a weekly update wherein the report was mentioned. The ‘Report on the implementation of the Community Strategy for dioxins, furans, and polychlorinated biphenyls’ was in fact issued by the Commission.
