The Malta futsal national team yesterday started their adventure in the Euro 2012 Preliminary Tournament on a bad note when they lost to France 6-1 at the Cottonera Sports Complex. Early goals from Jonathan Chaulet (3), Alexandre Texeira (5) and Kamel Hamdoud (12) put the French in command. After the interval, David Le Boette added two other goals before Glenn Bonello pulled a goal back for the hosts on 34 minutes. Texeira wrapped up France’s win with a sixth goal a minute later. Today, Malta play their second group match when they face Bulgaria at 8 p.m. The Bulgarians yesterday beat Lithuania 6-3.
