The Moviment IVA ghall-Ligi tad-Divorzju has written to the Broadcasting Authority saying it does not feel that next Monday’s Bondi Plus will refect “a balanced and adequate representation of all interested parties on the issue of divorce”.
It said that the programme will only feature a one-to-one interview with Andre’ Camilleri, chairman of Zwieg Minghajr Divorzju.
“Given that this is a matter of public interest and national importance we feel that programmes regarding the divorce issue should be balanced.
“In such programs one should, therefore, have members of both sides discussing on an equal footing, which means that both sides have to be interviewed in the same manner.
“Having one side presenting its views in the studio with the facility of making counter-arguments and the other side presenting its views only in clips without such a facility is not considered as balance.”
The movement said that, because of this, it refused to give clips for Bondi Plus and passed on its concerns to the relevant authorities.
