Reference is being made to the news report Philippines Minister Says Maltese Employers Seek To Hire Filipino Workers (Business and Finance, January 7).
It was stated that “Filipino workers in Malta are allowed to do part-time jobs after eight hours of regular work”. We would like to draw the attention of The Times and its readers that only Filipino workers married to Maltese or other EU nationals may have more than one job at a time.
Third country nationals, including citizens of the Philippines, who are not married to Maltese or other EU nationals, can only have one job at any one time, with one employer. They can do so after a prospective employer applies for an employment licence with the Employment and Training Corporation to employ them with his company.
