About 170 people aged 16 to 24 benefited from the Embark for Life – Labour Market Integration of Socially Excluded Youth project addressing the needs of those who find it difficult to seek and maintain a job.
Thanks to the project, young people facing social difficulties had a greater chance of living a quality life in the community through better employment prospects, the CEO of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, Sina Bugeja said.
By providing such young people with a better structure and stability in their lives, they would be in a better position to plan ahead for their future, she added.
The project empowers youths to live independently by providing tailored training, support and work opportunities. The participants come from various backgrounds including children’s homes, mental health institutions, correctional facilities and residential rehabilitation programmes.
The Embark for Life project is coordinated by Aġenzija Appoġġ and Aġenzija Sedqa within the Foundation for Social Welfare Services in collaboration with the Employment and Training Corporation and the Housing Authority.
