World’s best B&B close to Loch Ness

A former manse close to Loch Ness has been voted the best bed-and-breakfast establishment in the world.

The Old Manse at Invermoriston in the Highlands received the accolade from world travellers in the annual travellers’ choice hotel awards organised by the TripAdvisor company.

UK establishments dominated the world’s top 10 B&B list, occupying six of the first eight places.

Saltcote Place in Rye, East Sussex, was third, with the Riverside Hotel in Ambleside, Cumbria, fourth and the Number One B&B in Deal, Kent, fifth.

In sixth place was The Twenty One in Brighton, with the Creston Villa Guest House in Lincoln eighth.

World travellers placed Hotel Missoni in second place in the trendiest hotels in Europe table, with MyHotel in Brighton fourth.

World travellers also thought enough of Abbot’s Brae Hotel in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, for it to make the seventh place in the best service in Europe table, with Boskerris Hotel in St Ives, Cornwall, in eighth.

As voted by European travellers the best hotel in the UK was Rudding Park in Harrogate, Yorkshire, with The Old Rectory in Exmoor, Devon, in second place and Boskerris Hotel in St Ives third.
