Martin Borg was named as the new secretary of the Aquatic Sports Association during an Extraordinary General Meeting yesterday.

The appointment of a new secretary was the main item on the agenda of yesterday’s meeting. No elections were needed as Borg, a former council member of Neptunes WSC, was the only candidate for the post and his nomination was unanimously approved by the EGM. Borg succeeds Remy D’Amato who stepped down as ASA secretary late last year.

Also yesterday, Alan Bonello was appointed as the new ASA vice-president responsible for waterpolo yesterday. He replaces Joe Agius Ruggier.

Borg and Bonello will be working closely with Joe Caruana Curran who took over the ASA presidency from Austin Sammut last year.
