The Malta Shooting Sport Federation’s Rifle and Pistol Club organised an IDPA Tactical Shooting Competition at the Bidnija ranges last weekend.

Sponsored by Bornaghi Ammunition, of Tal-Magru Gun Club, the competition was supervised by Patrick Azzopardi, the range conducting officer.

In the semi-automatic event, Charles Stellini attained the tactical targets in 60.18 seconds to place first overall.

Marvic Peregin was second in 75.39 seconds and Mario Farrugia third in 75.75 seconds.

The second event was the pump action competition where Mark Cassar completed his targets in 65.23 seconds.

Stellini was second in 65.35 and Patrick Azzopardi third in 88.88 seconds.

Also last weekend, a trap competition was held at The Southern Shooting Club. Stephen Vella clinched the trophy with 65 points (45+20), one ahead of Jason J. Aquilina (44+20). Nicky Carabott was third with 63 hits (45+18).

The other top six-finishers were Stanley Cardona 60 (44+16), Charles Demanuele 59 (44+15) and Brian Galea 59 (45+14).
