The Malta Resources Authority tells us that our gas cylinders are much cheaper than Italy or the UK.

What they conveniently don’t tell us is that in the UK the minimum wage as of October 2010 was €22,597, the average wage in Italy is €32,000 and our minimum wage is €13,556.

These figures are there for all to see on Wikipedia.

Every time there is a price hike we are compared to the rest of Europe but the fact that our wages are much lower is seldom mentioned. Thank God for the internet!
