The title sounds like a great name for a film in the tradition of Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep’s 1979 Kramer vs Kramer blockbuster, but this is a dispute that’s being played out in the real world.

It is the latest installment in the long-running feud between the brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher who, since the unceremonious break-up of Oasis in August 2009, are pursuing separate careers in music, which is probably for the better.

Yet even away from each other, the feud doesn’t seem like it will be fading away into the background any time soon.

On the contrary, Liam Gallagher has revived it by lashing out at his brother Noel, accusing him of stealing material from Oasis.

Apart from two live appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, Noel has kept a low profile since the split, apparently keeping himself busy writing his debut solo album.

This, however, hasn’t stopped Liam from lashing out with claims that he knows what songs Noel is working on because they were swiped from Oasis.

In an interview with ContactMusic, Liam insisted he’d already heard Noel’s material because he “sung on half of it”.

He claims the tracks in question were leftover completed tracks from the 2008 sessions for Oasis’ mega-selling Dig Out Your Soul album, and that Noel “swiped some off because he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album”.

In contrast to Noel’s absence from the limelight, Liam’s new band Beady Eye has been making the most of the media circus, blazing into the public eye with debut single Bring The Light last November.

New single Four Letter Word is being released tomorrow, with a third single, The Roller, scheduled for release in February, one week ahead of the release of the band’s Steve Lillywhite-produced 13-track debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding on February 28.
