Valletta march on
Denni masterminds Tarxien’s downfall
Denni Rocha Dos Santos came to haunt his former team Tarxien Rainbows as he steered Valletta to a precious 2-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows at the National Stadium today
The nippy Brazilian took centre stage with another man-of-the-match performance for the Citizens as he first procured the penalty that put his team on their way before finishing off his ex-team-mates with a fine second goal midway through the second half.
In fact, Valletta took the lead on 42 minutes when Denni was floored in the area by Lee Galea and Terrence Scerri stepped up for the kick and fired the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the Tarxien net.
Tarxien tried to stage a comeback after the interval but the Citizens remained the better team and all but sealed the points on 70 minutes when Scerri found Denni inside the area and the Valletta schemer buried the ball home with firm drive.
The result lifted Valletta to a staggering 12 points clear at the top of the standings ahead of the same Rainbows and Floriana.
Denni was voted as the BOV Player of the match.

"The result lifted Valletta to a staggering 12 points clear at the top"
NOT REALLY!! ... thanks to the current format which I consider as extremely unjust and against the spirit itself of sports, Valletta the only team not to have suffered a defeat yet, as things stand will be given two DEFEATS by the MFA format. Minus 6 points.
Viva l-ispirtu tal-ISPORT EH!!
What a ridiculous format... No wonder no one else in the WORLD has adopted it!!
Its simply UNJUST and UNDERMINES the concept of fairness in SPORT.

Others are cutting down to raise levels
10 teams - 3 rounds - No division of points - best format for us
