CIANTAR. Born at St James Hospital, Sliema, on January 10, to Francesca née Gambina and Tonio, God’s precious gift of a daughter PHILIPPA BIANCA, a most welcome sister to Hannah and Rebekah. DEGABRIELE. On January 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Susan née Carabott and Bryan, God’s precious gift of a son – CAYDON B. – a most welcome brother to Hayley and Shayenne. Thanks be to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

ELLUL. On November 28, 2010, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Lara Ellul née Camilleri and Frederick, God’s precious gift of a son – GIANLUCA. Special thanks to the obstetrician, midwives and all the maternity staff.

GAFFARENA. Born at St James Hospital, Sliema, on January 11, to Josielle née Attard and Mark, God’s precious gift of a son – DANIEL MARK, a most welcome brother to Andree and Shaun. Thanks to the obstetrician, the midwife Carmen Scerri and to all the staff at St James Hospital.

GOUDER. On December 28 at Mater Dei Hospital, to Caroline née Griscti and Simon, God’s precious gift of a first-born daughter MARTINA. Deo Gratias et Mariae. Thanks to all the staff at Mater Dei.

MALLIA. On January 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Debbie née Calleja and Damian, God’s precious gift of a daughter – ALEXANDRA, a most welcome sister to Matthew and Rachel. Special thanks to all maternity staff at the hospital.

Obituary

MIZZI. On January 14, PAUL, aged 79, of St Andrew’s, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Philip, Michael and his wife Mariela, Tania, Maria and Colin and his sister Marion, his grandchildren Andrew, Mark, Paul and Daniel and great-grandchildren Oliver and Louis. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for San Ġwann parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr Gonzi would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MIZZI. On January 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROGER of Buġibba, aged 80, passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Doris née Perini, his son Cedric and his wife Josette, his daughter Fleur and her husband Andrew, his grandsons Neil, Damon and Jody, his brothers and sisters and their families, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 3 p.m. for Lija parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at Ħniena Divina cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. MULA. On January 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANDREW, aged 66, of Għargħur but residing in Żejtun, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Tessie, his son Ivan and his wife Therese, his grandchildren Jasmire and Alex, his sister Vonnie and her husband Fredu, his in-laws Anġlu and his wife Joycie, Freddie and his wife Mary, Antida, widow of Joe Bonnici, Andrew and Janet, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.45 p.m. for St Katerina parish church, Żejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be held at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at St Gregory cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Nazaret, Żejtun, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
