Backstreet boy McLean back in rehab clinic

The Backstreet Boys’ AJ Mc-Lean is heading back to rehabilitation.

The singer issued a statement confirming that he had checked himself into a rehabilitation centre, citing “personal rea-sons”.

Mr McLean said he knows this year is going to be busy for the Backstreet Boys, so he wanted to be “healthy and perform and sing for people at my very best and happiest”.

The Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block are set to tour together this summer. Mr McLean said the tour will not be affected.

Last year ended on a high note as the two men bands performed in Times Square as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011.

This will be Mr McLean’s third stint in rehabilitation. He sought treatment in 2001 and 2002. He turned 33 last week.
